Fuel Cell Today - Important Information on Changes to Reporting

During 2010 Fuel Cell Today, the leading organisation for independent and non partisan information on the fuel cell industry, will be reorganising its report structure.

Over the past 6 years Fuel Cell Today has built up a reputation for clear concise analysis on the fuel cell industry in the form of its suite of annual analytical reports. These have consisted of 8 applications surveys (small stationary, large stationary, niche transport, bus, light duty vehicle, portable, hydrogen infrastructure and military) alongside two country surveys, 4 policy updates and 4 patent reports. To date the Fuel Cell Today analysts have produced and published over 200 such reports which are regularly used and accessed by our worldwide user group.

Now we, and the industry itself, are in a position where such classifications as small and large stationary have become somewhat obsolete and the focus is very much on end use applications. Residential mCHP and UPS, APUs for secondary propulsion and leisure APUs for example are more relevant and important to track.

Due to this shift in emphasis, in 2010 Fuel Cell Today is introducing a new reporting structure. Instead of the traditional large and small stationary reports we will be publishing one Stationary report. Instead of niche transport, light duty vehicles and buses we will be publishing one Transport report. Portable will stay as one report but will be much expanded to cover the increasing spread of uses and variety of applications of portable fuel cells. Also new this year will be a Fuel report covering hydrogen production from all sources as well as fuel infrastructure.

Complementing these reports in 2010 will be unique reports on the fuel cell industry in Russia and South Korea and as well six-monthly updates on Policy and Patents. Also new this year is a two part special report on Fuel Cells and International Development.

The application surveys will be significantly expanded to cover the multiple applications where fuel cell technology is now being used as well special features, our proprietary forecasts and future analysis sections. These reports will continue to form the foundation of the analytical work done by Fuel Cell Today’s analysts and can continue to be accessed as a slimmed down open-access report with the full report available for a fee.

To ensure that the information we gather for the surveys is as up to date and accurate as possible, we endeavour to maintain direct contact with as many companies as possible throughout the year. The information that we are given is treated with the highest level of confidentiality and is never reported in such a manner that allows company identification. If you would like to speak with one of our analysts regarding this or to provide contact information that we may use in the future please feel free to contact us using the details at the end of this document.
