Oorja announces additional order from Super Store Industries

Oorja Protonics, a liquid methanol fuel cell developer, has announced that the company has secured an additional purchase order in less than six months from Super Store Industries (SSI). According to Oorja, the additional orders underscore the significant cost-savings and productivity increases realized by SSI after deploying the OorjaPac™ Model H earlier this year. SSI is the first commercial entity in the grocery distribution market to deploy methanol fuel cells for its material handling vehicles.

According to the press release, the units have successfully been deployed challenging environments such as a larger freezer used at SSI's facility. By charging onboard batteries of forklifts, pallet loaders and other material handling vehicles, OorjaPac allows SSI to charge batteries during times of operation and idling conditions. This has minimised time and battery costs while increasing productivity and runtime for batteries on a single charge.
