Smart Fuel Cell secures order from Daimler

Smart Fuel Cell AG, a German fuel cell systems firm, has secured an order for 130 of the company's EFOY Pro 1600 fuel cell systems from the Mercedes Benz Cologne/Leverkusen branch of Daimler AG.

According to the company's press release, the fuel cell systems will be used to provide an onboard power supply for special-purpose vehicles - Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans - used by officials using the vans as mobile offices. Most of the fuel cells will be retrofitted while the remainder will be placed into new Sprinter vans.
