Hyundai-Kia announces plans for nearly £2 billion investment in "green growth"
Hyundai-Kia has announced that it plans to invest nearly £2 billion (4.1 trillion South Korean Won) in "green growth".
The automaker has restated its ambition to become on of the top four makers of low emissions vehicles by 2012, when it expects to begin selling fuel cell cars.
Of the £2 billion,a little over £1 billion will be invested in R&D and facilities upgrades to manufacture low emissions vehicles including hybrid and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles.
The investment in green growth is part of a larger, overall announcement to invest £4.53 billion (9.3 trillion South Korean Won) in the companies activities this year.
