NGK announces high-effiency solid oxide fuel cell

NGK has announced that it has developed high-efficiency solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC). According to reports, the fuel cell has an output of 700W, operates at 800°C, and has a lower heating value of 63%. By coating the cell’s supporting anode with a film of electrolyte and securing a power generation area by forming cathodes on both sides of the cell, the firm was able to achieve a large output of energy, according to the firm.

The firm has provided a stack to a Japanese oil company for testing.
