Toyota, Kyocera, Osaka Gas to Develop Home Fuel Cell System
Toyota is developing a fuel cell electricity system for home use with three partners.
Transmission maker Aisin Seiki Co., battery materials maker Kyocera Corp. and natural gas supplier Osaka Gas Co. will work with Toyota, the automaker said in a statement. Kyocera will produce the fuel cells and stack. The companies aim to complete development by the early 2010s, Toyota said.
Toyota has earlier announced that it plans to sell hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to consumers by 2015.
