IdaTech Expands into the Asia-Pacific Region with a new Regional Office
IdaTech is pleased to provide an update on its planned international expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. The Company has now opened a new regional sales office in Malaysia to support the Asia Pacific region, has signed two partnership agreements for marketing and distribution in the area and completed a successful two-month installation trial in Malaysia with TIME dotCom. With frequent power failures in a tropical climate, IdaTech’s liquid fueled extended run backup power systems will provide a reliable solution for multiple applications in this region.
IdaTech opened a small regional office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in September 2008 to provide sales support to local customers and to further the development of its strategic distribution partnerships. With this office, IdaTech strengthens its global customer service offering through local support. In October 2008, members of the local IdaTech office, in collaboration with local partner UMW Industrial Power, participated in the Asian Communications & Multimedia (ACM) Expo in Kuala Lumpur, demonstrating an operational ElectraGen system at the event.
In addition to the establishment of a local office, IdaTech has signed two new partnership agreements to provide IdaTech’s extended run backup systems for installation into critical sites in the Asia Pacific region. IdaTech signed a Value Added Reseller agreement with TOKAI Engineering Sdn.Bhd, an ISO 9001:2000 certified, Enterprise 50 and Golden Bull Award–winning company (2003, 2004 and 2006), for the integration of IdaTech fuel cell systems into telecommunications networks in Malaysia.
IdaTech has also signed a strategic Marketing Representation Agreement with ST Kinetics in Singapore for critical backup power applications. ST Kinetics is the land systems and specialty vehicles arm of ST Engineering, a leading integrated engineering group providing solutions and services in the aerospace, electronics, land systems and marine sectors.
With the support of its new partner TOKAI Engineering, IdaTech has successfully completed a two-month trial of its ElectraGen XTi liquid-fueled system on a TIME dotCom SHD fibre optic network site critical for providing end users with broadband, internet, voice and data services. Replacing the existing diesel generator and battery bank, the ElectraGen™ XTi system provides reliable extended run backup power while reducing operating cost. Through a series of tests, the IdaTech fuel cell system operated successfully and was found to be a reliable standby power solution ready for deployment on TIME dotCom network.
