The London Hydrogen Partnership Announces the Launch of the £60,000 Fuel Cell Viability Study Fund

The London Hydrogen Partnership has announced the creation of a £60,000 Fuel Cell Viability Study Fund. The fund has been set up to support hydrogen fuel cell demonstration projects. Eligible projects must be replicable, in London and demonstrate the future role of hydrogen fuel cells in a low carbon economy.

The fund will cover all the costs of a comprehensive viability study for assessing fuel cells as a technology option for buildings, transport and portable applications.
The total budget for the fund is £60,000. Applicants can be from any organisation considering installing a fuel cell, with the capacity to complete the project if deemed feasible.

The fund will be launched on 29th October at the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Showcase at City Hall. An event organised in association with the Mayor of London, and sponsored by BOC. The Showcase will exhibit the latest examples of hydrogen and fuel cell powered systems and installations as well as offer examples of technology in development.

At the event potential end-users can learn about the benefits of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies and find out how they might accelerate the development and delivery of fuel cell projects in, for example, their vehicle pool or building developments. The Showcase is aimed at small and large businesses from both the Public and Private Sector including:

• Facilities Managers
• Fleet Managers
• Finance and Procurement Managers
• CEO/CFO
• Architects and Developers
• IT/Data centre Managers

Presentations will cover hydrogen fuel cells for buildings, portable applications, IT centres and transport applications of the technology as well the all–important topics of procurement and funding.

To register for the Showcase visit: www.london.gov.uk/lhp. Application packs for the Fund will be available for download from the LHP website from 29th October.
