Smart Fuel Cells Announce Market, Technical and Staffing Update

• More than 30 manufacturers have EFOY as standard equipment in their 2009 series
• Additional reinforcement to EFOY leisure management
• Fuel consumption of EFOY fuel cells further lowered (new deliveries in fall)
• Attractive 0% financing offer for EFOY from the beginning of the tradefair

Smart Fuel Cells have annnounced that 37 motor home manufacturers across Europe will supply EFOY fuel cells in their recreational vehicles in the upcoming 2009 season. These include caravans from Bocklet Fahrzeugbau GmbH, Burow Mobil, Caravan-Service Bresler Fahrzeugausbau, Concorde Reisemobile GmbH, Dopfer Reisemobilbau, Esterel Motor Homes, FR-Mobil, Fromme Fahrzeugbau GmbH & Co. KG,  Hymer AG, La Strada Fahrzeugbau GmbH & Co. KG, Niesmann + Bischoff GmbH, Rapido, PhoeniX Reisemobile, Schell Fahrzeugbau KG, and Seitz GmbH.

Since June 2008 Björn Ledergerber has been leading corporate marketing at SFC. For numerous years he has been product manager responsible for the development and marketing of the EFOY product range and has successfully influenced the development and market introduction of SFC’s products in the leisure and industry markets.

Another positive result of continuous product development and advancement, SFC is proud to announce that the fuel consumption of EFOY fuel cells has been significantly further reduced. Even though SFC, too, has to raise fuel cartridge prices in the face of further increasing energy and raw material costs, this reduced fuel consumption will directly benefit EFOY customers. Fuel consumption in the EFOY fuel cell delivered from now on has been decreased to approx. 0.9 litre methanol per kilowatt hour electricity. As a result the new EFOY fuel cells will produce 5.5 kWh from the M5 EFOY cartridge (5 litres) resp. 11.1 kWh from the M10 EFOY cartridge (10 liters). Also SFC is developing the fuel cartridge network. Currently Methanol is on sale in more than 800 international sales points.

Due to the current market situation, SFC repeats last year’s successful 0 % financing action for retailers. The promotion started on 29.th August in combination with the CreditPlus Bank AG. At this year’s CSD, the EFOY fuel cell will be present at 40 retailer and motor home manufacturer booths on the fairground. Visitors of the Caravan Salon can look forward to a little energy break at the EFOY stand and to a free ride on the popular EFOY rickshaw shuttle service, powered by EFOY fuel cells.
