Nuvera to unveil Massachusetts hydrogen station

Nuvera Fuel Cells announced on Monday that it will unveil the first hydrogen refuelling station in Massachusetts on August 11, 2008 as part of the coast to coast Hydrogen Road Tour. The ribbon cutting event will take place at Nuvera's headquarters in Billerica and will feature refueling demonstrations involving 9 hydrogen powered vehicles from leading automotive companies that are traveling from Portland, ME to Los Angeles, CA as part of a coast to coast tour. The vehicles will be on hand for public viewing after the event. Invited guests will have the opportunity to spend a few hours learning about hydrogen as a transportation fuel from the people who are working on the vehicles and infrastructure. Members of Congresswoman Tsongas’ office and distinguished officers from the Commonwealth and local governments will be in attendance.

The Hydrogen Road Tour is a coast to coast tour with 33 stops in 19 states. The tour features 10 hydrogen vehicles from BMW, Toyota, Daimler, Volkswagen, GM, Honda, Hyundai and Nissan, and will demonstrate progress and commitment toward commercially viable, emissions-free hydrogen vehicles in each state. At each stop, the tour will provide media, invited guests and the public with a hands-on experience with the vehicles and give observers the opportunity to see how safe, easy and clean it is to fill a vehicle with hydrogen. The tour is organised by the Department of Transportation, the Department of Energy, the National Hydrogen Association and the California Fuel Cell Partnership.
