Toshiba announces plans for commercial production of fuel cells in 2009
Toshiba has annoucned plans to mass-produce Direct Methanol Fuel Cells (DMFCs) by March next year.
The company last week said it set aside assests to build production facilites with the firts product due out of the plant by March 2009. The scheme is part of a plan that will see Toshiba spending an extra ¥500bn (approximately US$5bn, £2.5bn) on R&D over the next three years.
