'Largest ever' fuel cell order announced by AC Transit and UTC Power
The announcement was made at the American Public Transportation Association's annual bus conference in Texas - with delivery of the systems expected to take place in 2009 and 2010.
AC Transit general manager Rick Fernandez says the company's relationship with UTC Power has been "extraordinarily good".
"UTC Power has been a strong partner of ours, sparing no resources to provide us with excellent service and support, leading, in part, to our elected board of directors unanimously approving their contract," he commented.
Based in California, AC Transit is one of the state's largest transport agencies.
