Plug Power releases Corporate Sustainability report

Leading fuel cell technology company Plug Power has issued its first Corporate Sustainability report, detailing how its environmental, social and business strategies benefit the company's finances.

"Through our sustainability efforts we were able to mitigate the costs associated with energy use, resource scarcity and waste generation in order to build a more efficient organization that conserves cash on its way toward profitability and beyond," the company said in a statement.

Plug Power believes that its Corporate Sustainability report is the first of its kind to be issued by a fuel cell company.

The company's sustainability efforts have been supported by the Crotty Group, which works with corporations to help them develop sustainable market growth strategies.

Plug Power also received guidance for the report from Ceres, a network of investors and public interest groups, which works with businesses to address sustainability issues.

Established in 1997, Plug Power has operations in New York, Washington, Richmond and the Netherlands.
