EU parliamentary president to drive BMW Hydrogen 7

EU parliamentary president Hans-Gert Pottering has been presented with a BMW Hydrogen 7, according to a report by Auto Spectator.

Mr Pottering was handed the keys by BMW AG board chairman Dr Norbert Reithofer - and is expected to use the car for a limited period.

Commenting on the future of low-emission vehicles, Dr Reithofer said: "Our goal is sustained mobility. We can only make this possible together with the help of politicians and under reliable conditions. The Hydrogen 7 shows that we have initial solutions and are on the right track."

He added that BMW are convinced that the future of vehicle mobility lies in "regeneratively produced hydrogen" and said he was delighted that Mr Pottering was helping to make the concept of low-emission travel a reality.

BMW has loaned around 100 of its Hydrogen 7 vehicles to world business, political and cultural leaders.
