TreadStone unveils its new fuel cell technology
The New Jersey-based company claim the LiteCell will enable manufacturers to use metal fuel cell stacks, which cost less and are 40-50 per cent lighter than the current stacks available.
Gerry DeCuollo, president and chief executive of TreadStone Technologies commented: "With the availability of lighter weight, higher performance, low cost fuel cell stacks, TreadStone has addressed one of the most important challenges facing fuel cell manufacturers."
Mr DeCuollo added that the LiteCell technology exceeded the US Energy Department's fuel cell specifications for automotive markets.
"In addition, LiteCell technology is deployable in portable and stationary markets, substantially lowering manufacturing cost of the stack, increasing durability and energy density," he said.
Founded in 2006, TreadStone Technologies is a leading developer of fuel cell technology for the hydrogen economy.
