SymPowerco enters fuel cell race
SymPowerco will begin developing alternative energy sources for consumer and industrial markets, following its acquisition of Flowing Electrolyte Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (FE DMFC).
The company claims that Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) technology is a more cost effective and efficient source of power than the hydrogen proton exchange membrane (PEM)-based fuel cell - and provides a more constant voltage.
DMFC technology produces electricity through the release of hydrogen from methanol.
John Davenport, SymPowerco president, comments: "Our research indicates that multiple markets around the world exist for alternative power systems that employ advanced technologies and renewable eco-friendly energy sources."
Mr Davenport adds that DMFC has "huge potential" and says the company will become a significant provider of alternative energy as the market continues to grow.
SymPowerco is an independent alternative energy and fuel cell technology company based in north Las Vegas, Nevada.
The company was previously known as Dinosaurus.
