InnovaTek to receive fuel cell research funding
InnovaTek is set to receive fuel cell research funding from the Washington Technology Centre, for its project titled Development of Computer Models and Control Schemes for Biofuel-based Fuel Cell Systems.
The Richland-based technology company will work in collaboration with Washington State University (WSU) in developing a microchip-based control system that will integrate InnovaTek's fuel processor with commercial fuel cells.
Richland state representative Larry Haler commented: "Washington, like all states, wants to reduce its dependency on oil, especially foreign oil. I am pleased WSU and InnovaTek are helping lead the way.
The research group will receive $64, 275 in funding for phase one of its research programme.
InnovaTek claims that a newly-developed system will increase performance efficiency.
Washington Technology Centre, a technology and innovation development organisation, also awarded funding to eight other research groups.
