ITM Power to accelerate fuel cell testing
Previously, ITM had worked closely with Abro on developing hydrogen/diesel power, but that arrangement has now been concluded without any testing taking place.
The contract that replaces it will allow the companies to jointly test the possibilities of injecting hydrogen into diesel systems, Hemscott reports.
ITM said the agreement represents a meaningful step in its objective of collating data on the technology.
As well as developing alternative fuels for use in motor vehicles, ITM also researches cleaner power sources for homes and offices.
Its work was recently recognised when it received the CleanEquity Monaco 2008 award for excellence in the field of environmental technology research.
The company claims that the patented membrane materials used in its devices cost one per cent of industry-standard materials.
