Funding available for hydrogen storage projects

In an attempt to advance hydrogen storage capabilities, the US Department of Energy (DoE) has issued a solicitation for applied research and development projects which are concerned with viable hydrogen storage technologies for on-board vehicular applications.

The solicitation will complement the DoE's National Hydrogen Storage Project Portfolio, which aims to propagate the development of hydrogen storage systems capable of meeting the DoE's previously-established long-term targets.

New projects can either support an existing DoE Hydrogen Storage Centre of Excellence or be independent R&D initiatives.

Total funding available is thought to be in the region of $6 million.
