Count unveiled as Ceres Power's non executive chairman
An announcement had been made on November 6th last year that Mr Count would be assuming the position, but the appointment was only made effective on January 1st.
Mr Count has previously been employed by CEGB and National Power, and was chief executive officer of Innogy.
More recently he was chief executive officer of Essen-based RWE Trading before retiring in June 2005, and he is currently a non-executive director of South African electricity company Eskom, chairman of Progressive Energy and a member of the UK government's Industrial Development Advisory board.
Mr Count read mathematics at King's College, Cambridge and received a doctorate in physics from the University of Exeter.
