Precision Flow Technologies secures SOFC testing customer
Precision Flow Technologies Inc. has announced it has secured a commitment for the current version of its solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) testing system that uses the experience from Australian SOFC developer Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited (CFCL).
Under an alliance with Melbourne-based CFCL, Precision Flow Technologies markets test systems that offer a reliable source for testing SOFCs. The partnership combines CFCL’s specialised know-how in SOFC development, manufacture and testing, with Precision Flow Technologies’ extensive manufacturing experience and its established international installations of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) test systems.
Precision Flow Technologies recently secured a sale of an SOFC testing system from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York. Precision Flow Technologies will provide an integrated SOFC test unit capable of providing a full range of tests, from individual cells through to complete fuel cell stacks. PFT will also provide a range of related maintenance and customer support services.
The new Precision Flow Technologies system is being installed in Rensselaer’s Center for Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Research. The tool will expand the university’s fuel cell program and allow Rensselaer researchers and students to broaden their capabilities to include SOFC testing. Looking forward, Rensselaer and Precision Flow Technologies also plan to collaborate on several
fuel cell research projects.
