DoE considers establishment of H2 storage centre of excellence
The proposed centre of excellence will help the DoE in its drive to ensure that hydrogen from diverse domestic resources can be used in fuel cell vehicles, electric power generation products and combined heat and power applications in a safe, reliable and clean manner.
Falling under the DoE's Hydrogen Program umbrella, the centre of excellence will propagate research, development and production technique advances for fuel cell and hydrogen delivery and storage technologies.
Of critical importance is the need to develop on-board hydrogen storage systems which conform to weight, volume and cost restrictions and have enough capacity to facilitate a 300 mile journey without the need to refuel.
The meeting will be held in San Antonio, Texas, at the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Centre.
