Award-winning director to use BMW Hydrogen 7
Davis Guggenheim, the director-producer of Academy Award-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth, has been presented with a BMW Hydrogen 7, it has been announced.
Mr Guggenheim, who travelled to the 2007 Academy Awards ceremony in a BMW Hydrogen 7, will use the car for everyday purposes on US roads from now on.
"I am thrilled to be able to drive the BMW Hydrogen 7," he commented.
"My work on An Inconvenient Truth left me with a profound respect for our planet and the urgency to create change.
"I am excited to learn about the new technologies that are essential if we are going to solve this great problem. Every mile covered in a hydrogen-powered vehicle like the BMW H7 makes a difference."
The move forms part of a campaign by BMW to raise awareness of hydrogen-drive vehicles in the hope that this will ultimately heighten demand for the creation of a hydrogen infrastructure to support their use.
Other celebrities to have used a BMW Hydrogen 7 include Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Sharon Stone.
