SOFC system installed at Cuyahoga Valley National Park by Acumentrics

Acumentrics Corporation has installed a second 5kW solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC)
system at Cuyahoga Valley National Park, it has been confirmed.

As a result, the park's environmental education facility is now grid-independent and
will be operational in the event of a power outage.

The project has been backed by the US Department of Defense, the National Park
Service, the Electric Power Research Institute and local electric utility company
First Energy.

"The installation of a second system at an existing customer site confirms the value
proposition that SOFC units can be depended on in remote and sensitive locations,"
commented Gary Simon, Acumentrics' CEO, according to FuelCellWorks.

"Parks are environmentally sensitive locations where an extra premium is placed on
the clean and efficient power that SOFCs provide."

Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the 57th in the US, was established in 2000 and is
visited by 3.3 million people every year.
