Renault 'to begin Indian fuel cell production by 2010'
The French car manufacturer is reported to be planning to establish a joint plant with Nissan to cater for European markets.
The DPA news agency reports that the fuel cell vehicles would be targeted at urban users and would also come equipped with lithium-ionic batteries.
Details follow reports last month that Nissan was in talks with Japanese electronics company NEC over a joint venture to develop lithium ion batteries for use in fuel cell, hybrid and electric cars.
Then Japanese media reported that Nissan and NEC were planning to begin mass production of by 2010, as the major manufacturers look to ramp up supply.
