Virent was founded in 2002 to develop and commercialize Aqueous Phase Carobohydrate Reforming technology (APR). APR technology uses renewable, liquid carbohydrates like corn syrup & sorbitol to create hydrogen gas on an as-needed basis for fuel cell applications. Portable power without fossil fuels, APR is a platform technology that can be scaled for nearly any power application.
