The University of Yamanashi (UoY) plans to develop efficient and low-priced fuel cells for vehicles. The school plans to spend the first three years (2003-05) of its fuel cell project on basic research and the two remaining years to develop fuel cells. The University works closely together with the private industry and will be sponsered by the Japanes government with 500 million yen in 2004.
