Renault is a major European car and vehicle manufacturer, with a part ownership of Nissan. Although the work carried out by Renault on fuel cells has been relatively low key, it has demonstrated prototype vehicles. It is also working with BMW on the use of solid oxide fuel cells for auxiliary power. However, the company is working on the use of fuel cells to power vehicles, some prototypes have been developed. The company is working with Nuvera on a 70kW reformer to reform gasoline/ethanol/hydrocarbons. Plans to bring out a fuel cell APU in 2008 and fuel cell vehicles in 2015.
