Idemitsu Kosan is Japan's second largest oil refining, lubricant oil and LPG manufacturing company. Idemitsu plans to begin mass production in 2006 of a small stationary fuel cell system for residential applications. The company plans to commercialise the unit in Japan within this decade. The company is also participating in the Japan Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Demonstration Project (JHFC), which aims to demonstrate the every-day usability of fuel cell cars and has received a Honda FCV in March 2004.
