AFC Energy plc is a developer of alkaline fuel cells with the aim of generating clean electricity from by-product hydrogen in industry.
AFC has identified the chlor-alkali industry as its first target market and already has a customer in Akzo Nobel. Delivery of mulitple systems to Akzo Nobel's Bitterfeld site in Germany will scheduled to occur in August 2008.
Other industries also produce large volumes of by-product hydrogen and opportunities in these industries will be explored in due course.
AFC Energy is quoted on London's Alternative Investment Market having floated in April 2007. The Company recently (March, 2008) raised £4.4 million via a placing of new shares.
