ITM Power and Marks and Spencer Sign Pilot Agreement for Materials Handling Trial
20 Jan 2012

ITM Power and Marks and Spencer (M&S) have signed a pilot agreement to undertake the UK’s first fuel cell materials handling trial with on-site hydrogen production. The trial will last for six weeks and will see several fuel cell vehicles and forklifts deployed at M&S’s 1.1 million sq. ft. Prologis Park Distribution Centre in Bradford with hydrogen generated on-site via the ITM HFuel electrolyser system.
The trial forms part of M&S’s Plan A sustainability drive and is the latest in a series of high profile demonstrations for ITM Power. With the successes of Plug Power and others in the US, the materials handling industry is seen as a lucrative early market for fuel cells worldwide. Timings and further details of the Prologis Park trial have yet to be announced.
