Gordon Murray Design and ACAL Energy to Collaborate on Affordable FCEV

13 Sep 2011

Gordon Murray Design, the Guildford-based business of automotive entrepreneur Gordon Murray, has struck a twelve month deal with ACAL Energy to investigate the development of an affordable fuel cell research vehicle. Gordon Murray Design uses an innovative 'i-Stream' car manufacturing process that utilises a tubular structure with bonded-in composite panels in favour of conventional stamped steel panels. The company has attracted approximately GBP £1 million in funding for the project from the Technology Strategy Board (TSB). Research findings will be combined with those of several other TSB-backed companies, and if successful could lead to further funding.
