JENNY 1200 Application

SFC Energy has revealed a pre-series version of its new JENNY 1200 military fuel cell generator at the DSEI Defence & Security Exhibition in London. JENNY 1200 has been designed and matured in the context of the U.S. Air Force award placed in December 2012 to qualify a production ready 50 W fuel cell power generator. It builds on the mature platform of the successful portable JENNY 600S fuel cell generator and is based on SFC Energy's award-winning DMFC fuel cell technology for defence and security applications. The new system is a third larger than its predecessor but offers double the performance – a compromise more than acceptable in the military world.

The new 50 W system features significantly faster battery charging in the field. JENNY 1200 also comes with a targeted lifetime of 2,500 hours – completely maintenance free. As a result, users benefit from stronger performance, shorter charging times, higher energy density, and reduced cost.

As ever, the system runs on SFC’s methanol–water mix – now available in four JENNY cartridge sizes. The pre-series models are available immediately for evaluation by defence organisations.

“JENNY 1200 is the latest innovation in our strong defence portfolio”, says Dr. Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy. “It offers ultimate performance in miniaturised format with high reliability and excellent energy density, thus enabling longer mission times and ultimate power availability anywhere anytime.”
