N2Telligence Data Centre

Equinix, a provider of interconnection and data centre services, has recently commissioned a "Quattro generation" fuel cell system at its International Business Exchange Location™ data centre FR4 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The four generation aspects referred to include, providing power, cooling, heating and fire prevention; N2telligence is the world’s sole provider of fuel cells to produce low oxygen content air specifically for fire suppression.

The Hessian Minister of Environment, Energy, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, Lucia Puttrich, was present for the commissioning and said: "In Hesse, we attract innovative technologies for the coming energy transition. Frankfurt is one of the most important locations for data centres, for which a safe and affordable electricity supply is essential. Therefore, it is important that we try new and efficient technologies that make this possible."
