KPMG Publishes Global Automotive Executive Survey 2012

09 Jan 2013

KPMG Auto 2013

In the most recent edition of its annual automotive survey, KPMG spoke to 200 executives in the automotive industry asking for their views on future industry trends. While unsurprisingly hybrids and plug-in vehicles were expected to enjoy the biggest market share, fuel cell electric vehicles were believed to be of greater interest to the public than battery electric vehicles by 2018. We would note that the latest report compares this information to similar data gathered for the previous year’s report and it appears less favourable, but the reporting metric and timescales were changed.

The report also claims executives from the BRIC nations had greater confidence in fuel cell technology that their TRIAD counterparts. We might not make such a bold statement considering the investments made by automakers in the USA, Japan and Europe to date.

The report can be downloaded for free here.
