Oorja Protonics Signs MoU with HySA Catalysis

HySA CatalysisDirect methanol fuel cell (DMFC) developer Oorja Protonics has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with HySA Catalysis in South Africa. The MoU initially plans to grant HySA marketing and distribution rights in Africa to Oorja’s DMFC products, aimed at the telecommunications, materials handling and refrigerated truck markets.

Oorja ProtonicsThe second phase of the MoU sees Oorja licensing its technology to HySA, and allows for the incorporation of South African platinum-based catalysts. The two parties would work together on cost reduction and performance improvement.

HySA Catalysts is one of three Centers of Competence in South Africa and is located jointly at the University of Cape Town and at Mintek in Johannesburg.
