Fuel Cell Company Founder Nominated for European Inventor Award

Dr Manfred StefenerDr Manfred Stefener, founder and Managing Director of Elcore GmbH, has been nominated for a European Inventor Award, granted by the Euopean Patent Office to outstanding inventors for their contribution to technological, social and economic progress.

The nomination recognises Dr Stefener’s contribution to the invention and commercialisation of fuel cell technology: before Elcore, he founded SFC Energy in 2000 and led the company to market success. SFC Energy has to date sold over 24,000 fuel cell units. Fellow inventors Oliver Freitag and Dr Jens Müller are also named in the nomination.

Elcore announced the launch of its first commercial fuel cell system for domestic heat and power at the Hannover Fair last week.
