11-04-13 Fuel Cells for Residential Heat and Power in Europe

On May 14th, Japan’s Fundamental Issues Subcommittee of the Advisory Committee on Energy and Natural Resources decided to maintain 15% as a target ratio for cogeneration systems out of the total projected for generation in 2030. The previous estimate for cogenerated power was divided into approximately 100 TWh for business and industrial facilities and roughly 17 TWh for domestic fuel cells. 17 TWh of energy production would be equivalent to 5 million domestic fuel cell units, having a total capacity of 4 GW.
