Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has announced its safety and reliability standard for hydrogen fuel cell motorcycles. Scooters produced by some Taiwanese manufacturers have passed the new standard and are ready for mass production.

Ballard is to acquire IdaTech’s telecommunications backup power product lines and other assets. Ballard will develop markets in Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America and South Africa, where IdaTech's products have proven their value.

The initial testing of fuel cell backup power for China Mobile is complete. VN Tech will also construct test sites in Beijing for China Telecom. The companies have over 850 million subscribers between them and thousands of base transceivers that require backup power.

A fuel cell cycle rickshaw is being demonstrated by scientists from Freiburg and Dresden. The ‘Hydrogenia’ has a 250 W fuel cell and a hydrogen tank installed behind the seat. It has a range of up to 200 km and uses a metal hydride hydrogen storage tank.
