Protonex Fuel Cell Power System for UAV Now Commercially Available

03 Aug 2012

Massachusetts-based military power system developer Protonex Technology Corporation (Protonex) has announced the commercial availability of the UAV-H500 PEM fuel cell power system for unmanned aerial and ground vehicles. This system is a commercial variant of the power system that was used by the US Naval Research Laboratory to set a flight endurance record for fuel cell powered flight at over 26 hours flight achieved in an Ion Tiger UAV. This represents a seven-fold endurance improvement over available advanced batteries.

Protonex will be showing the new system at the AUVSI trade show (booth #5136) in Las Vegas from 6th–9th August.
