UK integrator Fuel Cell Systems has fitted an SFC Energy EFOY COMFORT 140 fuel cell aboard Hallin Marine 2, an ocean rowing boat to be used next year in an attempt to row around Great Britain in less than the current 26 day, 21 hour and 14 minute world record set by the British Army in 2005.

Team Hallin comprises four members who will row non-stop and who will rely heavily on electrical equipment such as a tiller pilot, satnav, radio, rechargeable satellite phone and fresh water maker. The EFOY system will be used to provide a reliable power supply to this equipment as well as keep the two on-board batteries fully charged.

Only ten people have ever rowed non-stop around the UK coastline. The Round UK Row challenge will depart from Tower Bridge in London in June 2013.
