EC fuels report

The European Commission's Mobility and Transport Directorate (DG-MOVE) has published a final consultancy report on the prospects of developing infrastructure for alternative fuels. The report by consultancy Exergia gathered information on the subject from Member States and industry experts.

It provides further input to the EC's preparatory work on an EU strategy for developing greener fuels, to be published later this year. It contains a summary of responses to a consultation, held November 2011, together with further stakeholder feedback on how many refuelling stations could be built for various fuel types, minimum geographical coverage and likely costs. The report also contains figures on the number of existing refuelling stations and vehicles using alternative fuels across Europe, as well as projections for the future.

The report is available to download here.
