Coca-Cola has installed two 400 kW UTC Power PureCell phosphoric acid fuel cells (PAFC) at its East Hartford, Connecticut bottling facility. The fuel cells, unveiled on 17th June, will provide 100 percent of the electrical and 50 percent of the heating demand at the facility.

"These UTC fuel cells have the potential to become a real game-changer in the way businesses power and heat their facilities," said Congressman John Larson (pictured above), D-CT, who attended the event. "This is a great investment by Coca-Cola. They're now poised to see real energy savings while doing their part to reduce the burden on our power grid and help fight global warming."
