Fuel cell "Hysyrider" scooter in development in Italy

27 Nov 2006

An Italian company is currently developing a new hydrogen fuel cell-powered scooter, according to reports.

The company GR Grafica is currently in the research and development stage for the new "Hysyrider" scooter, UNI news agency has reported, with a prototype model displayed at a recent industry seminar.

'So far we've been able to manufacture merely four prototypes of the model and further researches are on in my company's laboratory,' commented GR Grafica's managing director Giacomo Beltramo, although he added that a commercially available model could be imminent.

The company said that the scooter has a maximum speed of around 20km per hour, making it more suitable for areas in places such as airports and harbours rather than on the open road.
