2009 Fuel Cell Seminar

report
A desert retreat for generations of Hollywood stars, laid-back Palm Springs was the venue for the 2009 Fuel Cell Seminar and Exposition. But laid back was not a description you could give to the Seminar, which was busier than in recent years. With a well-attended exhibition, more component manufacturers exhibiting than ever, and increasingly market-oriented talk sessions, there was also something of a relief amongst attendees compared with last year. The industry has had a close shave this year, squeezed by the twin pressures of political opposition and economic recession. In the midst of these pressures, the industry still has to prove itself as ‘the new generation of green power’ (the theme of this year’s Seminar) and in revenue creation. However, there was cause for optimism at this year’s event that progress is being made.
