- Description
Iceland has now started demonstration of both hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and hydrogen ICE engine vehicles. The goal is to gradually increase the vehicle no over the next few years. Already we have 12 vehicles in Iceland and a few going on board a ship in the near future.
However as has been stated from the beginning we are also aiming for marine application. And we are now in the final steps of preparing the launch of an auxiliary engine on board a whale watching boat on April 24th 2008. It will be using a fuel cell and gaseous on-board storage (certified by GermanischerLloyd). The goal is to test the system during 2008 and 2009. Due to the launch of the boat INE and the North Atlantic Hydrogen Association are going to host a mini conference in Iceland April 23rd 2008.
