Kirchheim/Teck-Nabern (Germany) - July 26, 2001 - In an agreement signed on June 28 at XCELLSIS headquarters in Nabern Germany, XCELLSIS will provide a fuel cell engine to Nissan Motor Company, Ltd. The 75kW hydrogen-fueled fuel cell engine will be manufactured at the XCELLSIS Development and Manufacturing facility in San Diego, California. XCELLSIS hydrogen fuel cell engines generate zero emissions, are nearly twice as efficient as conventional internal combustion engines, and have powered vehicles at speeds over 80 mph. "Our 75kW engines, utilizing the Ballard Mark 900 fuel cell, have proven themselves in nearly a year of laboratory and in-vehicle, on-road testing" said Rick Cooper, CEO of XCELLSIS Corporation. "We look forward to supporting Nissan's fuel cell vehicle development activities over the course of this project."
